About D365Hub & the Microsoft Technology Ecosystem

D365Hub is the premier community-driven aggregator for Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure, and Microsoft 365. We surface the latest blog posts, articles, how-to guides, videos, podcasts, and community news so practitioners, consultants, developers, and decision-makers can stay ahead without having to hunt across dozens of individual sources.

Microsoft Power Platform is a low-code/no-code suite that empowers organisations to analyse data, build solutions, automate processes, and create virtual agents. The platform comprises five core products that work seamlessly together and integrate deeply with Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure, and hundreds of third-party services through over 1,000 certified connectors.

Power Apps

Power Apps enables users to build custom business applications without writing traditional code. Canvas apps give makers pixel-perfect control over the UI and can connect to almost any data source. Model-driven apps are built on top of Microsoft Dataverse and inherit rich metadata, business rules, and role-based security automatically. Power Apps Component Framework (PCF) lets pro-developers build reusable controls using TypeScript and React. Key topics on D365Hub include delegation, formulas, co-authoring, ALM pipelines with Azure DevOps, and performance optimisation.

Power Automate

Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) is an enterprise-grade automation platform supporting cloud flows, desktop flows (Robotic Process Automation / RPA), and business process flows. Cloud flows can be triggered by events, scheduled on a timer, or invoked on demand. Desktop flows automate legacy Windows applications and web browsers without APIs. Power Automate integrates natively with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Dataverse, and thousands of other services. Advanced topics include exception handling, parallel branches, adaptive cards, environment variables, and custom connectors.

Power BI & Microsoft Fabric

Power BI is Microsoft's leading business intelligence and data visualisation platform. It supports interactive reports and dashboards published to the Power BI service, embedded analytics within custom applications, and paginated reports for pixel-perfect printing. The DAX formula language enables sophisticated calculations over tabular models. Power BI Dataflows provide self-service data preparation using Power Query. Microsoft Fabric brings together Power BI, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Real-Time Intelligence, and more into a unified SaaS analytics platform where all data lives in OneLake.

Copilot Studio (formerly Power Virtual Agents)

Microsoft Copilot Studio allows teams to create, test, and publish AI-powered copilots and conversational bots without writing code. Topics define conversation flows, while generative AI capabilities allow bots to answer questions from uploaded documents, SharePoint sites, and public websites. Copilots can be deployed to Microsoft Teams, websites, mobile apps, and any channel that supports the Direct Line protocol. Integration with Power Automate enables bots to trigger backend processes seamlessly.

Power Pages

Power Pages (formerly Power Apps Portals) is a low-code platform for building secure, data-driven external-facing websites backed by Microsoft Dataverse. It features a drag-and-drop design studio, pre-built templates for common scenarios such as customer self-service and partner portals, and deep integration with Dynamics 365 for case management, knowledge articles, and more.

Microsoft Dataverse

Dataverse is the underlying data platform for the Power Platform and Dynamics 365. It provides a scalable, secure, cloud-native data store with rich metadata, role-based access control, auditing, business rules, calculated columns, and server-side logic through plug-ins and custom APIs. Dataverse supports relational data, file storage, image columns, and polymorphic lookups, making it suitable for complex enterprise data models.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a portfolio of intelligent cloud business applications spanning Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and mixed-reality operations. All applications share a common data layer (Dataverse or the Finance & Operations data model) and interoperate natively with the Power Platform, Microsoft 365, and Azure AI services.

Dynamics 365 Sales

Copilot in Sales provides AI-assisted meeting summaries, email drafts, and deal insights. Sales Accelerator and predictive scoring surface high-priority activities. Integration with Teams and Outlook keeps sellers working in their natural flow. D365Hub covers forecasting, pipeline management, relationship intelligence, LinkedIn Sales Navigator integration, and custom sales processes.

Dynamics 365 Customer Service

Dynamics 365 Customer Service delivers a unified agent workspace with case management, knowledge management, SLA enforcement, entitlements, and omnichannel support via the Digital Contact Center Platform. Copilot assists agents with real-time suggested replies, knowledge article summaries, and automated case resolutions. The platform supports voice, chat, email, SMS, social messaging, and Microsoft Teams integration.

Dynamics 365 Field Service

Dynamics 365 Field Service optimises on-site service operations with intelligent work order management, resource scheduling, asset and IoT-connected equipment management, and mobile-first technician experiences. Universal Resource Scheduling (URS) uses AI to suggest the best technician based on skills, location, availability, and travel time. Connected Field Service integrates with Azure IoT Hub to enable predictive maintenance scenarios. Remote Assist (mixed reality) allows technicians to follow step-by-step holographic instructions on HoloLens.

Dynamics 365 Customer Insights (Marketing & Data)

Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys (formerly Marketing) enables real-time, event-triggered customer journeys across email, SMS, push notifications, and custom channels. Customer Insights – Data (formerly Customer Data Platform) unifies first-party data from multiple sources to build a 360-degree customer profile, enabling AI-powered segmentation, churn prediction, and lifetime value modelling.

Dynamics 365 Finance

Dynamics 365 Finance is a comprehensive ERP covering general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, budgeting, cash & bank management, expense management, and project accounting. Intelligent features include AI-based cash flow forecasting, payment prediction, vendor invoice automation, and financial insights dashboards. Localisation packages cover hundreds of countries for tax, regulatory, and reporting compliance.

Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management

Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management covers procurement, inventory, warehouse management (WMS), transportation management, production planning, quality management, and IoT-connected asset intelligence. Planning Optimisation provides cloud-native master planning. Warehouse Management advanced capabilities include wave processing, cluster picking, and licence plate tracking.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Dynamics 365 Business Central (the evolution of Dynamics NAV / Navision / GP) is an all-in-one ERP for small and mid-sized businesses covering financials, sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, project management, and service management. Built on the AL programming language, it supports extensions published through AppSource. Copilot in Business Central adds AI-assisted product descriptions, bank reconciliation, and cash flow forecasting. D365Hub covers upgrade paths, AL development, Power Platform integration, and SaaS best practices.

Dynamics 365 Commerce

Dynamics 365 Commerce delivers a unified omnichannel retail platform spanning e-commerce, brick-and-mortar POS, call centre, and back-office operations. The headless commerce engine enables composable storefronts using the Commerce Scale Unit (CSU). Features include product catalogue management, promotions, loyalty programmes, and real-time inventory visibility.

Dynamics 365 Human Resources

Dynamics 365 Human Resources streamlines HR operations including employee self-service, benefits administration, leave and absence management, performance management, compensation, and workforce analytics. Integration with LinkedIn Talent Hub and Microsoft Viva supports talent acquisition and employee experience programmes.

Dynamics 365 Project Operations

Dynamics 365 Project Operations unifies sales, resourcing, project management, and finance for project-centric organisations.
