Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Updates to Precedence of User and Organizational Email Allows and Blocks

Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Updates to Precedence of User and Organizational Email Allows and Blocks

If you are a customer with Exchange Online Protection and Microsoft Defender for Office 365 plan 1 and plan 2 service plans, you need to know about the upcoming changes to how tenant and user allows are handled in the filtering stack. These changes will help tenant administrators have more controls and ensure users are better protected. The rollout for these changes will begin in late August 2023 and is expected to be complete by late September 2023. As a result of these changes, you may see some adjustments in the ordering of user and organizational allows and blocks, which may cause some items to be junked/quarantined that were previously allowed. To prepare for these changes, you don't need to do anything, but if you like, you can update your organizational allows and blocks across different places. If you have any feedback, you can provide it on the Message center post using the text box after you do thumbs up or thumbs down as it will directly reach the responsible team. For more information on the updated ordering of user and organizational email allows and blocks, you can visit the order and precedence of email protection page.
