Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Premium): Guest reviewer (preview)

Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Premium) is set to release a new feature that enables secure, external guest reviewer access to eDiscovery (Premium) review sets within a case. This feature, which is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 98093, is expected to roll out to public preview from mid-May to mid-June. The primary goal of this feature is to enhance collaboration practices among eDiscovery (Premium) admins and managers, resulting in improved workflow defensibility and confidence.

Once the eDiscovery Administrator turns on the feature to allow guest access within eDiscovery from Premium settings, eDiscovery users can invite a guest user to a specific eDiscovery case through Case settings. Review and approval of guest access will be done through the Premium Settings page, and once approved, the guest user will receive an email invitation to access the case within eDiscovery (Premium).

It is recommended for organizations using eDiscovery (Premium) to assess whether this feature will change their eDiscovery workflow. If so, relevant documentation must be updated, and all eDiscovery users within the organization should undergo training to ensure a smooth transition. Proper B2B external collaboration settings must be in place to allow the eDiscovery Administrator to approve a guest user.
