Handling Malicious Intra-Organizational Messages by Default

Handling Malicious Intra-Organizational Messages by Default

In a bid to shield your organization's communication channels from phishing emails containing malicious/spam-based URLs, Microsoft Defender for Office 365 will activate intra-organizational protection by default, starting in late July 2023. Consequently, such messages that have phishing URLs of high confidence will be automatically quarantined. Your default policy can be modified by customizing your Anti-spam preferences from the spam filter policy. You may also opt-in to the new policy and select the 'High Confidence Phishing' option or opt-out by choosing 'NONE.' No prior action is required, but it's recommended to take a moment and familiarize yourself with the new rollout's details.

Stay ahead of the game by anticipating the rollout and updating your Anti-spam settings while keeping an eye out for further developments on enhancing your organizational security.
