Follow up MC515531: Pronouns on Profile Cards in Microsoft Teams and Outlook Web

This post is a follow up to MC515531 and concerns the addition of a new feature to the profile card in Microsoft 365. Users in an organization can now add pronouns directly to their profile card in Outlook on the web and Teams. Through this feature, individuals can express their preferred pronouns, such as "he," "she," or "they". Please note that this feature would roll out in phases, with the Standard Release starting in late March and the GCC rollout scheduled to start at the end of May. While the visibility of pronouns is optional and can be turned ON by the organization, it will be visible to everyone in the organization. For people who want to make use of this feature, it would be their choice to add pronouns to their profile. It is important to note that pronouns should never be assigned by one person to another person as it should always be up to the individual to decide when, where, and which pronouns are used. Lastly, knowing someone's pronouns does not equate to knowing their gender identity.

If you are an administrator, once pronouns roll out, you may want to notify your users about this new capability and update your training and documentation appropriately.

This new feature provides a way for users to express their preferred pronouns, allowing for a more inclusive and diverse environment. This article was originally posted on M365 Admin.
