Microsoft 365 admin center: Business Chat (web) usage added to Active users metric in Microsoft 365 Copilot usage report

This article discusses an essential update to the Microsoft 365 Copilot usage report on the Microsoft 365 admin center. Starting from late October 2024, Business Chat (web) users will be included in the "Any app active users" metric under the Adoption by app section, resulting in a slight increase since August 20, 2024. This update is expected to cause an increase in active users of less than 2%, but the impact may vary according to specific usage patterns and needs of each organization. Real-time usage data for Business Chat (web) users is projected to be available by November 2024.

Note that a Microsoft 365 Copilot license is needed to use this feature. The change will occur automatically by the specified date, and no administrator intervention will be required.
