Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management: Enhancements to detection and triage

The latest update to Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management brings several enhancements to its security detection and triage experiences. Among the new features is the ability to customize alerts during review and create policies that prioritize alerts based on the customers’ preferences. The update also includes new security detections for data exfiltration from a device using RDP connection as well as noise reduction from OneDrive/SharePoint Online file sync and download.

With Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management, organizations can correlate various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. The platform also enables customers to create policies to manage security and compliance, with privacy by design. User-level privacy is ensured with role-based access controls and audit logs in place.

The update is set to be generally available in January of CY2023, with a preview available in October of CY2022. The platform is accessible via web and cloud instances, and the update is available worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant).
