In the latest feature to be added to Outlook for iOS, you can now manage document permissions while composing emails. When adding a file from OneDrive or SharePoint to an email, if any recipients don't have the necessary permissions to view the file, Outlook will notify you so you can update their permissions before sending the email. This added functionality ensures that all recipients can access the file in question, without having to sort out permissions through multiple emails.
The feature is currently available in the General Availability release phase on iOS devices for all worldwide cloud instances in the Standard Multi-Tenant platform. This feature was added to Outlook in June CY2024, according to the Microsoft 365 roadmap.
If you're an Outlook user managing document permissions on iOS devices, this new feature is definitely worth checking out. Keep in mind that you'll need to have OneDrive or SharePoint files in your email to make use of this functionality.
