New Multimedia Redirection upgrades on Azure Virtual Desktop are now in public preview
We are happy to announce new upgrades to Multimedia Redirection (MMR) on Azure Virtual Desktop are now in public preview. Now you can enjoy a smoother video playback experience while watching videos in your Azure Virtual Desktop browser. These updates allow MMR to work on more websites such as Facebook, IMBD, YouTube and Fox Sports. Both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome support the new multimedia redirection video upgrades. In addition to working on more websites, users now have access to more media controls.
Getting started
To enjoy the Multimedia Redirection upgrades, the latest MSI installer is required. Please refer to Multimedia Redirection for Azure Virtual Desktop on how to set up Multimedia Redirection.
For known good websites that work with MMR, please check the list here.
Multimedia Redirection upgrades are also available on Windows 365. For more information go to https://aka.ms/W365MMRBlog.
