Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365: OneDrive – Share Word Documents with AI summary
Microsoft has launched a new feature that allows users to include an AI-generated document summary when sharing a Word document through the OneDrive platform. This summary is included in the notification email sent to the document recipient(s) and provides more contextual information about the shared document. It is important to note that this feature is only available to customers with a Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and works exclusively when sharing Word for Web files. The feature was launched on February CY2024 and is available worldwide on both standard multi-tenant cloud platforms.
If you are looking for an efficient way to share important Word document updates or changes with the recipients, then this feature can come handy. By using an AI-generated summary, you can give more context to the shared document, reducing the confusion and misinterpretation among the recipients.
