Catch Up Improvements on Web
In a bid to enhance the user experience, Microsoft has made a few notable improvements to the Catch Up feature on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Web. Catch Up essentially helps users stay in sync with their collaborators by providing them with the latest comment activity that is directed at them, as well as a summary of recent changes.
Users can now enjoy enhanced functionality which allows the comment activity directed at them to persist in Catch Up between sessions for up to 28 days. Furthermore, new items will be indicated with a blue dot for clarity, and users can dismiss items individually if they do not wish to keep them in Catch Up. These updates were made based on feedback from users.
This feature is available in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Web, and gives end users the ability to easily identify new collaborative activity directed at them, such as mentions, tasks assigned to them, and replies to their comments. These updates to the Catch Up feature will be available starting mid-December 2023, and should be completed by late February 2024. The changes will occur automatically in the web environment.
