Some editions of Windows 11, versions 21H2 and 22H2 have reached end of servicing
If you're running Windows 11 on versions 21H2 and 22H2, here's an update you need to know. As of October 8, 2024, the Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions of Windows 11, version 21H2, and the Home and Pro editions of Windows 11, version 22H2, will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates. The October 2024 security update is the last one available, after which devices running these versions will be vulnerable to the latest security threats.
To ensure your device stays protected and productive, it is recommended that you upgrade to the latest version of Windows 11 when nearing the end of servicing. With the latest update, your device will remain supported and continue to receive monthly critical updates to maintain its security and ecosystem health.
For further information on the lifecycle of the Enterprise and Education, IoT Enterprise, Home, and Pro editions of Windows 11, as well as additional details on servicing timelines, refer to the Windows 11 release information, Lifecycle FAQ – Windows, and Microsoft Lifecycle Policy search tool.
