Teams Cross Cloud Authenticated Meetings
Teams Cross Cloud Authenticated Meetings, also known as Cross-Cloud Authenticated Meeting Join, is a new feature that allows a Teams user to join a meeting hosted in another cloud while signed into their account in their home tenant. This means that participants can join meetings in other Microsoft clouds as authenticated users by signing into their home tenant, without granting them access to the host tenant. The rollout for this feature began in July and minimum client versions are required for Windows desktop, Mac desktop, Android, and iOS clients.
If you are interested in using this feature, make sure to familiarize yourself with Azure Active Directory B2B and Cross Tenant Access Settings. It is also important to ensure that strict firewall rules for access to Microsoft 365 resources have been reviewed and that communication with other Microsoft clouds has been enabled. For more information about IP address information for the various Microsoft clouds, check the Microsoft 365 endpoints page.
This change only affects organizations with configured cross-tenant access settings between tenants in different Microsoft clouds and Teams Cross Cloud Meeting join enabled for inbound and/or outbound connections.
