Upcoming changes to direct email notifications
This article highlights the upcoming changes regarding direct email notifications. These notifications are sent to users assigned pre-configured administrator roles in impacted Dynamics 365 or Power Platform environments, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Lifecycle Services (LCS) project or environment. To ensure that administrators receive email notifications in alignment with the existing notification policy, it is essential to assign correct roles to them or add additional email addresses to the "Additional Notification" list via PowerShell.
To ensure that the correct individuals receive direct email communications, it is recommended to review the "Manage email notifications to admins" article and ensure that administrators and additional users are assigned appropriate roles. If there is a need to add recipients who are not system administrators or assigned administrator roles in LCS, then PowerShell cmdlets can be used to add their email addresses to the "Additional Notification" field of the environment.
It is important to note that service incident and change communications are usually posted to the Microsoft 365 Service health dashboard and the Message center. More information about service communications can be found in the Policies and Communications for Power Platform and Dynamics 365 Services document.
Overall, this article informs readers about the upcoming changes to direct email notifications and provides guidance on how to ensure the correct individuals receive email communications.
