App name change for Microsoft Project for the web, Project Teams tab, and Project Power app to “Planner (Project)”

Microsoft has announced a name change for their apps "Project for the web", "Project Teams" tab and "Project Power" app to "Planner (Project)". This name change will not impact the existing functionality across these apps, and a banner will appear in the app before and after the change to inform users. The name change is set to roll out in late January 2024 and should complete in early February 2024. This change aligns these apps with the new Planner app, which aims to bring together to-dos, plans, and projects into a single unified experience that is simple, flexible, scalable, and intelligent. Existing Project for the web customers will get access to premium capabilities in the new Microsoft Planner app as part of their subscriptions, with no additional licenses required. There is no need for any other preparation, but internal documentation referencing the previous app name "Project" should be updated to the new app name "Planner (Project)".
