Microsoft Graph API will include usage metrics for Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365

Microsoft Graph API is set to include usage metrics for Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365, which will assist in customized reporting and analytics. A Copilot license will be necessary for using this feature, which will be globally available from early to mid-September 2024. This feature will enable users to generate tailored insights and analytics. Metrics that will be included in the Graph API will align with those accessible in the Copilot for Microsoft 365 usage report in the Microsoft 365 admin center. These metrics will include a count of enabled users and active users at the tenant level as well as the last activity date per user. The rollout of this feature will take place automatically by the specified date without any admin action required before the rollout. Admins can use Graph API to create customized reporting and analytics for Copilot for Microsoft 365 usage. A sample request for one of the three APIs is available, getMicrosoft365CopilotUserCountSummary, as well as a sample response. The feature is enabled by default. It is recommended that administrators are notified and relevant documentation is updated ahead of the rollout..
