Microsoft Defender for Identity: “Alert notifications” feature will retire starting in November 2024
Microsoft Defender for Identity has announced that the "Alert notifications" feature will retire in November 2024. To manage notification rules, users are instructed to use the Incident email notifications in Microsoft Defender XDR. Any existing notification settings should be transferred to the Email Notifications page under Defender XDR settings to avoid any interruption in receiving notifications.
From mid-November 2024, the Alert notifications page within Microsoft Defender XDR will be retired. Users must use the Incident email notifications page to create and manage all new and existing notification rules. By retiring the Alert notifications page, Microsoft aims to streamline and enhance the notification experience in the Defender XDR portal.
It is crucial to transfer all existing notification settings to the Email Notifications page under Defender XDR settings to ensure uninterrupted notifications. Failure to set up incident notifications through the XDR page will result in users no longer receiving alert email notifications after the deprecation date.
