iOS Build now included in ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rule for Outlook on iOS
Outlook on iOS is introducing a new feature! Starting mid-November 2024, it will support iOS build numbers in ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rules. Organizations can choose to update their existing rules or leave them as is but are guided to review the New-ActiveSyncDeviceAccessRule documentation for guidance. With this new feature, the ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rule DeviceOS parameters for Outlook on iOS are affected. The operating system build number in addition to the operating system version number will now be supported. The change will be rolled out in mid-November 2024, globally. This change will affect organizations whose users are subject to ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rules on their Exchange mailbox. Administrations can specify the iOS operating system build number with the DeviceOS parameter as "iOS X.X.X XXXXX" like "iOS 17.5.1 21F09" when creating new rules. Existing ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rules are not affected by this change. To take advantage of this new capability, existing rules will need to be updated. There is no need to prepare for this change.
