Microsoft Teams is introducing an improved collaborative annotations experience that enables presenters to interact with underlying content while annotations are in progress. Screen sharers will be able to click through the annotations layer and edit their content without stopping the existing annotation session. This enhancement will be available on desktop (Windows and Mac) and web. When users share their screen in Teams meetings and select Start annotation in the presenter toolbar, they will see a new button, "Interact with background," in Microsoft Whiteboard toolset which allows them to interact with underlying content without stopping the existing annotation session. This feature will begin rolling out in late July and is expected to be completed by mid-August for Standard Release users. For GCC-High and DoD, roll-out will begin in early August and be completed by mid-August. No preparation is needed as this new feature becomes available to Teams. You may update your training materials indicating that the feature is now supported.
