Microsoft Exchange: Improved bulk detection and updated bulk complaint level recommendations
Microsoft Exchange is improving the effectiveness of bulk email filtering by redistributing bulk senders across different bulk complaint levels (BCL). This will result in the current bulk thresholds becoming slightly more aggressive. The new BCL recommendations for default and standard policies are 7, while for strict policies it is 5. These changes will be rolled out gradually from mid-October to mid-November 2024. Microsoft Exchange recommends that admins adjust their BCL settings accordingly to improve their control over bulk filtering. By doing so, the new BCL distribution will make higher levels as aggressive as lower levels in the previous version, facilitating more accurate blocking of unwanted bulk emails. Learn more about these changes on Microsoft's website.
