Animated Backgrounds in Teams Meetings

Microsoft Teams Meetings just got more immersive with the addition of animated backgrounds. Users can now replace their existing background with an animation from a selection of pre-defined options, adding a personal touch and enhancing the meeting experience. Animated backgrounds can be identified by the small video icon in the bottom-left corner of the preview picture.

The new feature will first roll out to Targeted Release users in mid-June and will be available to all users by late July. It is important to note that animated backgrounds are not available on low-end devices and require at least 8 GB RAM as well as a CPU with 4 logical processors, and using more video filters may slow down background animation in case of high machine workload. To access this feature, users can go to the pre-join screen before the meeting starts, and select a new animated background from the "Effects and Avatars" menu. Users can also change animated backgrounds during a meeting by selecting "More" in the meeting toolbar.

With this new feature, Microsoft Teams Meetings are now more engaging and provide a more personalized virtual environment for users.
