Endpoint Data Loss Prevention – Enhanced privacy control: Limiting PII data access in Activity Explorer
Endpoint Data Loss Prevention will implement additional privacy controls to limit access to personally identifiable information (PII) data in Activity Explorer. This update will restrict PII data access to users with the role of Data Classification Content Viewer in mid-April 2024. Existing roles will be affected, and users should be notified while relevant documentation is updated. The Data Classification Content Viewer role will be the designated requirement for end-user content access in Activity Explorer, removing PII data exposure from existing roles. This update should have no impact on organizations, as it will be automatically rolled out by mid-May 2024 with no admin action required. Users may want to notify and update relevant documentation, and the associated Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID is 383745.
