2021 release wave 1 plan - Ten items in my watchlist
Published Monday, May 10, 2021
Few eye-catchy and scintillating features are planned to roll-out in " 2021 release wave 1 "
This is my watchlist.
1. Dependent assemblies for plug-ins
The dependent assemblies capability provides a supported way for developers to include additional dependent assemblies along with the plug-in assembly when registering a plug-in with Microsoft Dataverse.
2. Multi-table lookups
Multi-table types are currently built into Microsoft Dataverse as static types like Customer, which connects to both Account and Contact. This new feature gives users the power to define any other multi-table lookups they may need.
3. Increased alternate key limits
The limit has now been updated to a maximum of ten keys from five keys.
4. Microsoft Dataverse auditing enhancements
Audit data is going to be stored in log storage and Administrators can set a retention period for audit data.
5. Plug-in telemetry with Application Insights integration
This empowers plug-in developers and people who maintain systems to accurately diagnose issues occurring within plug-in code running in their environment. The developer doesn't need to configure or include Application Insights SDK assemblies because everything is already set up.
6. Multiple data bridging technologies in Azure
Export Microsoft Dataverse data to Azure SQL Database
Export Microsoft Dataverse data in multiple regions to single Azure Data Lake Storage container
Link a Microsoft Dataverse environment to Azure Synapse Analytics workspace and bring Dynamics 365 data to Azure
7. Use connection references to simplify application lifecycle management (Power Automate)
Makers can use connection references in flows to share connections between flows. When a solution is imported, there will be a guided experience for providing new connections within the connection references, allowing the flows to run successfully after import.
8. Trigger flows when a Microsoft Dataverse action is called
With this feature, you will be able to create flows that trigger when an action is performed in Microsoft Dataverse.
9. Visual Studio Code extensions
Visual Studio Code extensions for pro developers to use Power Apps CLI and Power Apps Component Framework inside of Code Spaces.
10. Portals Web API enhancements
This feature will enhance portals Web API by adding support for Microsoft Dataverse custom actions and portal access permission configuration. By including custom actions support, makers will be able to call Web API to perform complex operations.
