Microsoft Teams: Roster grouping for in-room participants through proximity join for Teams Rooms on Windows
Microsoft Teams has introduced a new feature that allows for roster grouping for in-room participants through proximity join for Teams Rooms on Windows. This means that when in-room participants join a meeting on a Microsoft Teams Room on Windows with a companion device, they will be grouped under the room node. However, participants must use Proximity Join with Microsoft Teams Rooms in order to take advantage of this feature.
This feature is now generally available as of August CY2021 and is available on the desktop platform for the worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant) cloud instance. For further information about this feature, including its roadmap, visit the Microsoft Teams Roadmap ID 400702.
