Microsoft Viva: Topics in Outlook Desktop

The recently introduced Microsoft Viva feature, Topics, allows you to stay up-to-date about topics that are being discussed within your organization without leaving Outlook Desktop. This feature detects when a topic is mentioned in an email currently in focus in read mode, and prompts the user to open the Viva Insights panel. This panel displays a comprehensive list of all topics referenced in the email, along with their descriptions and the associated resources or people involved.

This new addition is expected to streamline the task of keeping abreast of internal organizational discussions and facilitate the process of collaboration, enhancing productivity across teams.

This feature was released for general availability in December, 2022, and is available on desktops with a worldwide cloud instance. To learn more about it, check out the roadmap link listed below.
