Changes in CSPM support – CSPM will now be supported only in “Microsoft Defender for Cloud”
Microsoft has announced that Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) support in "Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps" will be retired in late November 2023 and moved to "Microsoft Defender for Cloud." From mid-December 2023, security administrators will no longer be able to access, manage, and use CSPM features in "Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps." If CSPM is being used in an organization, it is recommended that administrators re-configure the connectors to cloud services and migrate to "Microsoft Defender for Cloud," where development resources will continue to be invested. It is worth noting that this change will not impact organizations that do not use CSPM.
To assist with the transition, Microsoft has provided resources such as an explanation of Microsoft Defender for Cloud, CSPM capabilities in Defender for Cloud, and steps for onboarding cloud environments to Defender for Cloud. The post can be found on the M365 Admin website, with the title "Changes in CSPM support – CSPM will now be supported only in 'Microsoft Defender for Cloud.'"
