Support of Azure Notification Hubs’ Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) legacy API will be deprecated on June 20, 2024.

Azure Notification Hubs is deprecating support for Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) legacy API on June 20, 2024. This service facilitates push notifications to Google Play supported Android devices. Previously, ANH communicated with FCM using the Legacy HTTP protocol but now GCM/FCM is being deprecated. Customers have less than a month to migrate to FCM v1. It is necessary to migrate to FCM v1 to avoid any disruption in the push notification service.

If you are an Azure Notification Hubs user, ensure that you take the necessary steps to migrate to FCM v1 before the Legacy HTTP protocol is deprecated. The removal of support for Firebase Cloud Messaging legacy API will not impact customers using Azure Notification Hubs with Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) or Windows Notification Service (WNS).
