Copilot: Audio overviews on PDF Reteirement
Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app’s Audio Overviews on PDFs, which create AI-generated podcast-style summaries for commercial users, will be retired worldwide on October 30, 2026. After this date, the feature and previously generated audio overviews will no longer be available. No admin action is needed. What and Why: Audio Overviews on PDFs in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app allows commercial users to turn PDF content into an AI-generated, two-person, podcast-style audio overview. It is designed to help users understand lengthy documents without having to read through every page, particularly when they want to consume content hands-free. Users open a PDF in the mobile app and select the headphone entry point. Copilot then generates an audio overview of the document that users can listen to within the app Rollout Schedule: General Availability (Worldwide): We will retire the feature on October 30, 2026. Impact on Your Organization: Users will no longer see the option to create an Audio Overview when viewing a PDF in the Copilot app. Previously generated PDF Audio Overviews will no longer be available for playback. This change applies to commercial users on iOS and Android. Action Required/Recommendations: No administrator action is required. Compliance considerations: No compliance considerations identified. Review as appropriate for your organization. Message ID: MC1505608
