Announcing the Public Preview of Azure Compute Fleet
Azure Compute Fleet, a new service that enables the management and deployment of thousands of virtual machines, has been announced by Microsoft. With just a single API call, users can deploy and manage numerous VMs across a mixture of SKU’s, VM type, Availability Zones, and pricing models, with Compute Fleet automating the deployment, management, and monitoring of VMs. The service offers superior price-performance ratios with a blend of pricing models, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plan, Spot, and Pay-As-You-Go options, and can be used across a wide range of workloads, from stateless web-services and large batch jobs to big data clusters and Continuous Integration pipelines. Compute Fleet can expedite capacity access, hyperscale using Spot VMs, maintain Spot VM target capacity, and optimize for price, capacity or both. The new service is available now in Azure Regions East US, East US2, West US, and West US2, with more regions expected to be added soon.
