Microsoft Teams: Walkie Talkie – Integrating Apple’s Push to Talk framework on iOS
Microsoft Teams is set to integrate Apple's Push-to-Talk (PTT) framework on iOS devices, allowing for enhanced communication and audio transmission convenience. Users will be able to transmit audio from anywhere on their phone, even when the Teams app is not in the foreground. The walkie-talkie feature will also enable audio transmission directly from the lock screen, with background runtime optimization to optimize performance while conserving battery life. This integration is expected to be available in May 2024 and will be available on the Android platform and in the GCC cloud instance.
