Content Camera on New Teams
The new Teams app experience for Windows and MacOS will soon support content camera, a feature that allows remote attendees to have a clear view of physical objects like whiteboards, printed documents, books, and more that are in a meeting room. With content camera, the in-room object is intelligently detected, cropped, framed and shared with remote meeting participants. This feature is supported on Windows and MacOS client and is expected to roll out in different phases, starting from early February 2024 for Target release and late May 2024 for DoD. To enable this feature, users need to ensure they have a built-in or USB-connected camera, and they can then share a whiteboard or a document using their camera. By pointing the camera towards the object, the camera will automatically put it into focus and everyone in the meeting will have a clear view.
The content camera feature will be available to everyone in the organization and would be a useful addition for remote teams collaborating on projects or meetings.
