10 Things to consider when Managing Enterprise Apps - Microsoft Dynamics 365 on Microsoft Cloud
Managing an enterprise application such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 on Microsoft Cloud can be a daunting task. Once the application is launched, the operations team is faced with many post-launch challenges. To properly manage and support an enterprise application, there needs to be a defined governance team, a mechanism to manage security and access control, a focus on data security and integrity, an emphasis on application performance monitoring, and a dedicated multi-level support team. Furthermore, Microsoft Dynamics 365 is updated twice annually, so it is necessary to plan ahead for updates and enhancements.
In particular, governance (decision making) should be a priority to report any blockers and improve the operational performance of the system. Security and access control are ongoing challenges that involve managing users' access and safeguarding sensitive data. Data security and integrity is focused on reliable, quality data, proper data entry and maintenance standards, and data lifecycle, archival, and storage planning. Application performance monitoring is necessary to identify issues, auto-create incident support tickets, and report to users. Finally, product updates and upgrades to enhance the application and infrastructure require a dedicated multi-level support team and proper training as well as planning for future endeavors.
Understanding and addressing these considerations can help your organization manage an enterprise Dynamics 365 app more effectively, making it easier to scale and adopt new applications. Stay tuned for the second half of this blog series to know more about the last five things to consider when managing a Microsoft Dynamics 365 enterprise application on Microsoft cloud.
