Microsoft is introducing a new feature that allows admins to provide intent while submitting messages, email attachments, or URLs to Microsoft in Exchange Online Protection, Microsoft Defender for Office plan 1 or plan 2 service plans. This change will allow admins to specify if the submission is for a second opinion or to report a true malicious message missed by Microsoft, leading to more accurate analysis. The streamlined analysis process will be fully implemented by mid-January 2024, and it will not impact existing submissions, filtering, or grouping functionality in submissions. This feature will be available for Submissions, Threat Explorer, or Quarantine. Previously, admin submission of Teams messages was only available in Microsoft Defender for Office plan 2.
