Hotpatch for client comes to Windows 11 Enterprise

If you are using Windows 11 Enterprise, this news is for you. Microsoft is now offering hotpatch updates, which allow for faster patching without the need for device restart. The public preview ensures that the same level of security patching can be achieved as with standard monthly security updates without disrupting users or having them restart devices. Eligible devices will install the standard monthly security update and restart at the first month of each quarter to get the latest new features. The hotpatch updates for Windows 11 Enterprise, version 24H2 are available in public preview. Your organization can benefit from faster updates to keep compliant. If eligible devices participate, they can receive all OS security patches while minimizing user disruptions. Devices that aren’t eligible or not opted in for hotpatching will continue to receive the standard monthly security updates. To prepare, check whether your organization meets the eligibility criteria which includes having a Microsoft subscription that includes Windows Enterprise E3 or E5, having a Windows 365 Enterprise subscription, having targeted devices running Windows 11 Enterprise, version 24H2 (Build 26100.2033 or later) and using Microsoft Intune.
