SharePoint Premium: Enable/disable Unstructured, Structured, and Prebuilt Document Processing

SharePoint Premium subscribers can now enable/disable Unstructured, Structured, and Prebuilt document processing services individually. Admins have the option to turn off each service on the Microsoft Syntex admin page, and models of the turned-off service cannot be created or run. The rollout is scheduled to happen automatically by mid-March 2024, and no admin action is required. Users can also turn on and off each of the document processing services individually after signing up for a 'pay-as-you-go' plan. The rollout will occur worldwide, and there will be a new toggle on the Microsoft Syntex admin page that allows admins to manage the document processing service. The change will impact end-users in the tenancy, who will no longer be able to create or apply models of the turned-off document processing service. Existing models will also be stopped from running in the tenancy, until the service is turned back on.
Overall, this change provides SharePoint Premium users with more flexibility and control over their document processing services. Admins are encouraged to notify their users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.
