Microsoft Teams: Tags will be supported in Private Channels

Microsoft Teams is set to introduce support for tags in private channels, allowing users to @ mention groups of people. This update is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 373545 and will roll out gradually beginning in mid-February 2024 and completing by late March 2024. End users will be able to efficiently communicate with groups within private channels by utilizing tags. Organizations are advised to manage who can create and manage tags within their tenant and can direct end users to the official documentation for more information about using tags in Microsoft Teams.
