Microsoft OneNote: JPG and PNG references in Copilot Notebooks
Microsoft OneNote now supports using JPG and PNG images as knowledge sources in Copilot Notebooks, enabling Copilot to extract and use visual content for generating outputs. The feature is globally available since October 2026, requires no admin action, and affects users with Copilot Notebook access. We are introducing support for using JPG and PNG files as knowledge sources in Microsoft Copilot Notebooks. This enhancement allows users to add images directly to notebooks alongside supported document types. Copilot can use content contained within these images, including text, charts, diagrams, and other visual elements, as grounding context to generate more relevant presentations, reports, briefs, and other outputs. This update helps users incorporate information stored in images into their Copilot Notebook workflows without additional processing steps.
