How to add and remove owners from a Power Automate flow with CLI Microsoft 365
If you need to add or remove owners of a Power Automate flow, there are a few ways to do it. While you could create your own Power Automate flow to make modifications, this can become cumbersome if you are managing several flows. A much easier method is to use CLI Microsoft 365, which allows for simple management of owners through commands like "flow owner add" and "flow owner remove".
The latest release of CLI Microsoft 365 includes these new commands for Power Automate, making it that much simpler to manage crucial flows that may have significant implications for your organization. Specifically, CLI Microsoft 365 requires input of "environmentName" and "flowName" to make modifications, both of which can be easily retrieved using the "m365 flow environment list" and "m365 flow list" commands. You can then add or remove owners as needed using the appropriate commands.
It's important to remember that proper governance is essential for Power Platform, as mission-critical processes should not run in the context of a single user who could leave the organization. By using a tool like CLI Microsoft 365, you can ensure that you have multiple owners for each flow and automate the process of adding or removing owners.
This is a useful tool for managing Power Automate flows and can be a great way to stay on top of user access and maintain control over critical processes. Be sure to check out CLI Microsoft 365 and its many features for managing a variety of tasks with Microsoft 365.
