Campaigns in SharePoint
SharePoint introduces Campaigns in SharePoint, integrating Viva Amplify’s campaign management to organize and analyze news posts within SharePoint. Rolling out worldwide from July to September 2026, it requires no admin action, supports Viva Amplify users, and maintains existing Viva Amplify campaign functions. What and Why: We are introducing a new SharePoint Publish experience: Campaigns in SharePoint (Site Campaigns). This new capability brings campaign management experiences from Viva Amplify into SharePoint, providing corporate communications teams with a unified place to create, organize, distribute, and measure SharePoint news content without leaving SharePoint. For organizations with Viva Amplify users, this feature offers a lightweight way to organize SharePoint news posts into campaigns and benefit from campaign analytics directly within SharePoint. There are no changes to the Viva Amplify licensing model or existing Viva Amplify in-app campaign experiences. Rollout Schedule: General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout began in late July 2026. Expected completion: Late August 2026 to early September 2026. Impact on Your Organization: Who is affected: Viva Amplify users and corporate communications teams that publish and manage SharePoint news. Platforms/Services: SharePoint Online, Viva Amplify. What will happen: Amplify users can continue to create and manage campaigns in the Viva Amplify app. A new SharePoint experience will allow users to create lightweight site campaigns directly within SharePoint. Site campaigns can be used to organize related SharePoint news posts. Users will have access to campaign analytics from within SharePoint. There are no changes to the existing Viva Amplify campaign experience. The feature is available only to users licensed for Viva Amplify. Action Required / Recommendations: No admin action is required. Review internal documentation and prepare end-user guidance as appropriate. Communicate the availability of SharePoint site campaigns to corporate communications and content publishing teams. Be aware that the Viva Amplify Create campaign admin setting applies only to campaigns created in the Viva Amplify app and does not govern SharePoint site campaigns. Compliance Considerations: No compliance considerations identified, review as appropriate for your organization. Message ID: MC1454394
