Update to Microsoft Enterprise Content Delivery Network (eCDN) analytics data retention (360 days to 180 days)

Microsoft eCDN analytics data retention is reduced from 360 to 180 days, effective July 27, 2026. Data older than 180 days will be deleted automatically. No changes to data collection, and no admin action is required, but review reporting relying on data older than 180 days. What and Why: We are updating the data retention period for Microsoft Enterprise Content Delivery Network (eCDN) analytics from 360 days to 180 days. This change aligns with enterprise-ready data governance practices across Microsoft 365, helping organizations maintain compliance while ensuring analytics data is retained for a duration appropriate for operational insights and reporting needs. Action Required / Recommendations: No immediate action is required. Review any reporting or analytics workflows that rely on data older than 180 days. Update internal processes or dashboards to ensure necessary data is exported or archived before July 27, 2026. Notify stakeholders who depend on long-term analytics trends. Update internal documentation or reporting guidelines as needed. Compliance considerations: Area Explanation Data processing, storage, or access changes The retention period for eCDN analytics data is reduced from 360 days to 180 days, changing how long data is stored and accessible.
