Microsoft Teams: Add multiple steps when building a workflow from scratch

Microsoft Teams Workflows will soon support multiple sequential actions in a single workflow, enabling richer automations to reduce manual tasks, consolidate processes, and improve productivity. The feature rolls out worldwide in early to mid-September 2026, requiring no admin action but user awareness updates. What and Why: Users will soon be able to build richer, end-to-end automations in Workflows for Microsoft Teams by adding multiple actions within a single workflow. Instead of creating and managing separate workflows for individual tasks, users can design automated processes that perform several actions in sequence after a single trigger. This enhancement provides a more intuitive, step-based workflow building experience and enables users to automate common business scenarios such as collecting information, sending notifications, updating systems, and routing requests within a single workflow. Rollout Schedule: Targeted Release (Worldwide): Rollout will begin in early September 2026 and is expected to complete by early September 2026. Platform: Microsoft Teams With this update, users will be able to: Reduce manual and repetitive work by automating multiple tasks within a single workflow. Consolidate business processes that previously required multiple separate workflows. Improve productivity by automating more complete business scenarios from start to finish. Simplify workflow management and maintenance through a clearer, step-based design experience. Address more complex business needs without requiring advanced technical expertise. The result is a more flexible and scalable automation experience that helps teams save time and work more efficiently. Action Required / Recommendations: No action is required from administrators. This feature will be available automatically to Workflows users once the rollout reaches your organization.
