Excel: Python in Excel

Excel is introducing a new feature, Python in Excel, that allows users to utilize Python functions directly in the Excel grid. This integration enables users to incorporate the powerful capabilities of Python into their Excel workbooks without requiring any additional installations. The Python formulas will be run in a secure container on the Microsoft Cloud with enterprise-level security in a compliant Microsoft 365 connected experience. It will be available for users with access to Excel for Windows and will be released globally in August 2024, with preview access available in August 2023. This feature will be accessible on both desktop and cloud platforms.
By leveraging this new feature, users can take their data analysis and visualization to the next level by utilizing the versatile and extensive functionality of Python. This promising feature of Excel not only simplifies the development process for the users but also enhances their efficiency.
The roadmap ID for this feature is 406770 and can be tracked on the Microsoft 365 roadmap. For more information, visit the post on M365 Admin.
