Microsoft Copilot Chat History with Commercial Data Protection - ON HOLD

Microsoft Copilot's chat history feature, which allows users to view and continue past chats, is currently on hold. The feature will require users to consent to new terms and is stored for 30 days. It will be rolled out in mid to late May 2024, and a PowerShell script is available for users to manage the feature. If chat history is enabled, chat data will be saved within the organization's compliant service boundary, and chats will be available for 30 days before deletion. Users can delete their chats from chat history at any time. However, chat history does not require a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license, and users must consent to new terms to use this feature.

Although Copilot users' chat history is private and not available for reporting or auditing purposes, they may be subject to other monitoring by IT admins.
