Microsoft Teams: Enhanced delegated calling with delegate call access restrictions and join notifications

Microsoft Teams is adding call delegation enhancements: delegators can lock active calls to block delegate participation and enable warning tones notifying when delegates join or resume calls. These features improve privacy and transparency during calls, rolling out worldwide from August to September 2026. No immediate admin action needed. What and Why: Microsoft is enhancing Microsoft Teams call delegation with new controls that provide greater privacy, transparency, and control during active calls. Delegators will be able to lock active calls to prevent delegate participation and optionally enable warning tones that notify participants whenever a delegate joins or resumes a call. These enhancements help users manage sensitive conversations more effectively while improving awareness during delegated call handling. This message is associated with Roadmap ID 567306.
