Approximate Distinct Count comes to Import and Direct Lake (Preview)

I noticed that ApproximateDistinctCount() can be used within a thin report (Live Connect), connected to an import mode semantic model already published.
But when I try to create measures in a report that embeds its own model, I still face the same error message as before :

“The function APPROXIMATEDISTINCTCOUNT isn’t supported for this storage mode.”

I’m using Power BI Desktop October release and I tried to upgrade the compatibility level of my model, without success.

Do you think this is because it’ still a preview feature?
