Viva Glint app for Microsoft Teams: In-app update and refreshed chat experience
The Viva Glint app for Microsoft Teams will be updated in June 2026, refreshing the chat experience and clearing prior bot history upon update. Survey notifications continue regardless of update timing. Admins managing app versions may need to approve the update; most organizations require no action. Introduction We’re releasing an updated version of the Viva Glint app for Microsoft Teams. This update applies only to organizations using the Viva Glint Teams integration and is intended to refresh the in-app experience while maintaining existing survey functionality. When the updated app version becomes available, users may see an in-app banner in Teams prompting them to update the Viva Glint app. If users choose to update, their existing Viva Glint bot chat history in Teams will be cleared and replaced with a new welcome message. This update does not affect survey delivery. Users will continue to receive Viva Glint survey notifications in Teams whether or not they update the app immediately. When this will happen: General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): Rollout begins in early June 2026 and is expected to complete by mid-June 2026. How this affects your organization: Who is affected: Users who use the Viva Glint app in Microsoft Teams Tenant admins who manage Teams app versions through Microsoft Teams admin policies What will happen: Users may see an in-app update banner in the Viva Glint Teams app. If users update the app: Previous Viva Glint bot conversation history in Teams will be removed. A new welcome message will appear. Future survey notifications and interactions will continue as expected. If users do not update immediately: Viva Glint survey notifications will continue to be delivered as normal. No loss of survey functionality is expected. Organizations that restrict or pin app versions in the Teams admin center may need to review and approve the updated app before it becomes available to users. What you can do to prepare: No action is required for most organizations. If you manage Teams app versions using admin policies: Review and approve the updated Viva Glint Teams app version in the Teams admin center, if required. Consider notifying users […]
