"@Rich-RC You can today get the MMM natively in a couple ways. The first is to use a date column such as first day of the month the change the display format to MMM. The second is to add a sort by column to a text MMM such as month of year or period column. Sort One Column by Another Column in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn"

Thanks for your reply, I do appreciate it. And the method in the link is what I use already. Though, it's not quite what I mean by a native method. I mean being able to achive this result without the need for creating any additional columns. Like how in Excel, you just need to change the formatting of the date field in question, then it applies the "MMM" format whilst retaining the chronological order. Is this possible? And if not, can it be built in?

I'm aware of posts regarding this issue with large numbers of views (e.g. Solved: Sort Chronologically MMM-YY Date - Microsoft Fabric Community) so there may be a good level of demand for it.
