Teams Discover feed Service migration

The Teams Discover Feed backend is migrating from People Prediction Service to Substrate Search Service Recommendations starting June 18, 2025, with PPS deprecated by August 2025. No user impact is expected. Ensure client versions meet minimum requirements on Windows, iOS, and Android before August. We’re updating the backend service that powers the Teams Discover Feed. In mid-June 2025, the Discover Feed began transitioning from the People Prediction Service (PPS) to the Substrate Search Service Recommendations (3SR). This change is part of a broader infrastructure evolution to improve scalability and service integration. When this will happen This change began rolling out on June 18, 2025. The legacy PPS service will be deprecated starting August 2025. How this affects your organization There is no visible impact to end users or administrators. While the experience remains unchanged, this backend service transition ensures continued support and performance improvements. What you can do to prepare To ensure compatibility with the updated service, users must be on the following minimum client versions: Windows Desktop: Version 25020512900 iOS: Version 2025031301 Android: Version 2025031302 We recommend validating that your organization’s devices meet these version requirements before August 2025.
