File policy/filter ‘policy’ retirement
If your organization is utilizing the File policy/filter ‘policy’ in the MDA file policy page, this important message concerns you. This feature is being retired and users will not be able to configure or use file policies that contain the ‘policy’ filter, when this change takes effect, which will begin rolling out in mid-May.
Instead, Microsoft recommends utilizing the new Malware policy governance actions, which is where the company will be continuing to invest development resources. To prepare for the change, users should create a new Malware policy with the new Governance action, rather than using the current file policy.
For more information on the retirement of the File policy/filter ‘policy’ feature and how to prepare for the change, please refer to the original post on M365 Admin.
