Migrate your offline or signed-out devices to the Pro Management Portal for administration
Microsoft is transitioning Teams Android device management from the Teams admin center to the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal by September 2026. Eligible devices will be auto-updated online; offline devices must be manually updated to avoid loss of management. Administrators should verify updates and complete the PMP transition steps. What and Why: As previously announced in MC1227622, February ’26, Microsoft is transitioning management of Teams Android devices from the Teams admin center (TAC) to the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal (PMP). To help ensure a smooth transition and reduce administrative effort, Microsoft is automatically updating eligible Teams Android devices to a supported Admin Agent version. For additional guidance, see the Microsoft Learn article:Transitioning Teams Android Device Management from Teams Admin Center to the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal. Microsoft can automatically update devices with the required Android agent app only if they are supported and remain online long enough for the update to complete. If your devices remain offline for an extended period and Microsoft cannot update them before September, they may not be manageable in the Pro Management Portal. After September, if Microsoft cannot update these devices automatically, administrators will need to update them to the minimum required Admin Agent version through another method, such as installing a firmware update from the OEM management portal that includes the required Admin Agent version. To avoid these issues, we strongly recommend updating supported offline devices to the minimum required Admin Agent version as soon as possible and before September. If the devices were previously provisioned in TAC, they may automatically update to the minimum required Admin Agent version when they come online. For devices that are online and have been updated to the required Admin Agent version but have remained signed out for an extended period, you must sign in to each device at least once to migrate it to PMP. Rollout Schedule: Worldwide: Effective July 2, 2026, the rollout is 100% complete across all regions in the Public cloud. GCC High and DoD: We expect to start the rollout by mid-August 2026 and complete it by late August 2026 (previously […]
